Meet the Performing Artists Thursday, April 18

Kent Gresham
"A long time ago, I decided to teach myself guitar and piano, and fell in love with songwriting along the way. Since then, I've written songs and played out a few times at coffee shops, and truly love to share music with people. Jamming is the best!"

Abby Miracle
Abby Miracle (age 20) is a singer/songwriter from the small town of Opelika, Alabama. Abby has been singing in front of crowds since age 6, and hasn't stopped since. Abby has been logging song ideas, lyrics and melodies since about age 10. At age 15, she purchased her first ukulele and fell in love. Knowing how to play an instrument, the songwriting possibilities then seemed endless to Abby. She started taking songwriting instruction from award winning folk songwriter, Dave Potts, summer of 2014. Later that summer, Abby finally picked up the guitar and started taking lessons; because she, as her teacher said "needed to step up to 6 strings". In spring of 2015, she released her first full length album of all original music, "Colorful". The era of this record included love songs, flower crowns, catchy melodies, ukuleles and everything tie dye/rainbow. In the current era, some of the best trademarks of Abby Miracle remain. Miracle still wears flower crowns while playing some shows, her hair has taken on the "Colorful" trademark, she still writes catchy melodies, and she is very rarely found without a ukulele on hand.

Tony Brook

A working musician/songwriter. He’s all over the place. He has appeared on BBC Radio with Keith Greentree, and BBC Radio with Stephen Bumfreys. Tony has performed with Lucinda Williams, Steve Young, Johnny Neal, Tanya Tucker, Waylon Jennings’ Band.  He has opened up for such acts as Willie Nelson, Ray Charles, Government Mule, Tensely Elis, and Sam Bush. Tony Brook has released his 6th and 7th full length records, "Live from the 280 Boogie" and “Songs from the 20th Century”.
“I try to cover all the Tony Brook songs I can. Tony can paint a picture of Alabama better than anyone I know." -Adam Hood, Low Country Sound and Warner/Chappell Nashville.
“Local Blues God. His likeness is emblazoned on the pages of Alabama rock history. Tony Brook’s lyricism is only matched by his guitar. His songs are solid messages of truth and wisdom. His sweet-tea southern drawl tells it like it is." - Jonas Shultz, Freak Jams, The Good Doctor

Bronson Lubresky
Rhythm and melody influenced by the beauty of the universe.

Michael Legendre
Originally from Covington, LA, Michael Legendre is a singer/songwriter who sometimes pretends to be from New Orleans. A veteran band member but novice musician, his songs often deal with themes of place, nostalgia, and modern anxiety.

Sylvia Rose Novak
“Novak is an emerging talent, delivering honest, emotionally ridden songs that have lasting power.”
- Glide Magazine Opelika, AL native Sylvia Rose Novak is a musician in a class all her own.  Music has always been a facet of her life, so much so that her parents remember that she started to sing before she could talk.  Novak excelled at any instrument put in front of her, whether it was piano in her early years, trombone in middle school and high school bands or the cheap red Silvertone bass that her father bought her at age 12. Since then, Novak has mastered a multitude of instruments including banjo, pedal steel, mandolin, and violin. She performed her first fiddling gig in August 2013 playing with Chris Posey, who encouraged her to release her first album, "Chasing Ghosts," in 2014 while she was working as a horse trainer and luthier’s apprentice.  During that time, she repaired and setup the antique fiddle she currently plays live. "Chasing Ghosts" earned international critical acclaim. As did her third and most recent album, "Someone Else's War". Novak has opened for The Mulligan Brothers, Chris Knight, Caleb Caudle, Belle Adair, American Aquarium, Mike and the Moonpies, Will Hoge, and Rod Picott. Novak is releasing 3 sets of a-side/b-side singles during the first half of 2019 leading up to the release of her fourth full-length album in the fall.
Ove Jensen
"Ove Jensen fell in love with the sound of the guitar when he was fifteen. After considering the implications of this new interest, he bought his first guitar two years later and began writing songs. Ove finds musical inspiration from his observations of the world." This week, Ove will be joined by musicians J.Brian Anderson and Chris LaFrombois.
Johnny and Beth of Electric Blue Yonder
Johnny and Beth have been writing music together since 2010, and performing their works with Electric Blue Yonder since 2017. Their music is an eclectic mix of roots oriented songwriting mixed with psychedelic sounds of surf and rock illuminated by haunting harmonies.
